CALGARY — Boo the bear has done it again — escaped his enclosure at Kicking Horse resort near Golden, B.C.
As was the case in his similarly bold breakout five years ago, resort officials believe the 295-kilogram grizzly’s flight has been spurred by lust.
“We anticipate he is out pursuing the female grizzly that was seen in the area,” said Jordan Petrovics, a spokesman for Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.
Boo escaped sometime between an evening check last Saturday, and Sunday morning. Petrovics said the eight-year-old grizzly dug out under the enclosure’s fenceline, through an area between bedrock and underground steel plates.
