With something like 100 remaining in operation today, the DC-3 is living history of how many areas of the globe were colonized, and how they are presently maintained. This short film from AJE chronicles flight time, down time, weather and related experiences on routes into the Green Hell, the Amazon Basin in south Colombia. The sense is that you are operating in a different time. Myself having spent time in DC-3s and over equally uncivilized terrain and similar to this perspective, while watching I had memories of the newness, excitement, exploration, and the adventure. I was also fortunate enough to spend some time in Colombia, but not so fortunate to have had this view. A very enjoyable 25 minutes.
