The Fraud Rollcall

And here we go with the next installment. Millions upon tens of millions upon hundreds of millions of other peoples money, stolen, abused, absconded, spent, lost, whatever. India, Idaho, New York, Florida, Indiana, California. And now New York is in the spotlight again.

Nicholas Cosmo. $400M. Agape World Inc., a private firm with its office in Hauppauge, New York. Cosmo was not unknown to the authorities. He must have been evaluated as a low threat to re-offend. Guess they were wrong. "Cosmo was convicted of a federal charge of felony fraud and swindle in 1999 and sentenced to 21 months in prison. He was released in August 2000, according to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons". And Agape? Chat boards have seen inquiries and debate. Both views, positive and negative are present. Was there a target audience? Seems that this was the middle class investment of choice. Stop stealing other peoples money.
