Our Lives are Full of Choices (Autoblog)

Throughout our every day lives, we make choices of all kinds.  Many of this choices are made unconsciously, or subconsciously.  Others are made with more conscious thought and evaluation.  But even the ones that don't register fully have the basis of experience behind them.  We make certain choices based on what has happened to us in the past, and what we might expect as an outcome.  Those decisions that we take more time with generally have more risk of some nature attached to them.  If we choose to take the time, we examine the options available, we peruse the potential outcomes, and the various costs and benefits of each.  My trading the futures markets has made me much more critical of choices and their consequences.  The market is a cruel teacher.  But you absolutely know where you stand at all times.  Everything about trading includes containing your losses.  Do you know what the worst case scenario is, and can you live with it if it happens.  It all about managing expectations.

So seeing this video clip is one of those cases where you really wonder what the person might have been thinking when they took this path.  Did they 'think' about the potential worst outcome?  Maybe they've gotten away with these types of choices for so long that the potential consequences no longer seem real.  If damage were to be limited to the source of such decisions, fine.  In this case, driving a motor vehicle and a young child are involved.  That means anyone within striking distance of the car is at risk, including the occupants of the car.  Stupendously stupid and short-sighted.  Walking On.

Video: Bad parenting and bad driving know no bounds

Driving baby
In Poland, babies drive the cars – Click above to watch the video after the break

Warning: Do not try this at home. As much as we'd love to read you the riot act that contains the rest of the typical automotive video warnings – "professional driver on a closed course," "no animals or small children were harmed in the making of this video" – well, we're not entirely sure we can claim any of those things are true.

What we have here is a man and a woman who have apparently taken it upon themselves to exercise their inadvisable right to procreate. Oh, and a baby and a car. We'll set the scene: Man and baby jointly drive car, on what appears to be a public street in Poland, in traffic. Woman records grainy video, family later uploads results to YouTube.

We'll be the first to admit that we don't know how old this video is (it has a recent upload date, but who knows?), but it's still worth watching. We don't want to spoil it for the rest for you, so all we'll say is that you have to watch it all the way through to get the full scope of the awful parenting involved. Click past the breakto see what all the fuss is about... and please, no Polish jokes in the Comments.
