I have had my share of transitions and am thankful for the perspective they provide. I recently prepared and posted a Photo Essay on a favorite site http://www.jpgmag.com/ and add a teaser and the link for you to enjoy.
Transitions
Transitions represent the outcome of changes in time, space and things. Fall is a special transition period for me.
Transitions are separated by an equinox, a point of equal balance; a turning point. Natural transitions have many faces in Canada. Fall offers the colours of transition, the air and odour of transition, complete with hints to test the depth of our awareness of what's to come.
For all the dynamism in our natural and modern worlds, I continue to regress to my childhood memories where the tranquility and solitude creates a place of stillness, peace and joy for me. I keep forgetting how important that is; the multitude of sensory influences of light with shadows and dramatic contrasts, of the depth and texture of the air, of the temperature gradients, and the feel of the soil, and the noise within the silence. And what about the energy flows? A minute's walk in the forest replenishes my energy, and the balance. Make that walk by the ocean, with the sun shining, and the world is a different place.
